Wellington ICT successfully launched the Engage Your Community (EYC) Conference 2009 on November 13 and 14, 2009 at Massey University. EYC is a conference about the web for community and non-profit organisations.
EYC 09 is bigger and better. With over a hundred participants, EYC ran for two days in response to requests for more intensive hands-on training.
"Fantastic conference. I learnt a great deal and found the organising and speakers really helpful and approachable"
Check out the OCVS writeup on the EYC.
The first day featured a stream of great speakers and interesting case studies such as online fundraising, using online collaboration tools and social media, and improving your website to mention a few. The second day offered six workshops designed to give community groups hands-on knowledge and practical skills.
EYC is just one of Wellington ICT’s capacity building initiatives. In the coming months, through the e-Rider programme, we will conduct free learning lunches, mini-seminars, direct coaching and other activities enabling community groups to be more productive.
“Congratulations on the EYC - another excellent set of planning with fantastic keynote speakers”
"Inspiring and motivating"
